I came to teaching late, after working as a clerk, and 25 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I stay late on Thursdays for anyone who needs it.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ms. Sweeney
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Sweeney: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
