I taught art at Malang Secondary School in Malang from 2014 to 2022. Most days I taught first-year students, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Ms. Surya
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the mountains, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
