I taught physical education at İzmir Academy in İzmir from 2016 to 2025. Most days I taught Year 7, and I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
Over the years I had 400 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Ms. Şimşek
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the mountains, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
