I taught mathematics at Redwood Secondary School in San Diego from 1990 to 2008. Most days I taught primary school children, and I played music while people worked.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
