I taught social studies at Berlin High School in Berlin from 1981 to 2008. Most days I taught Grade 4, and my door was open at lunch.
Over the years I had 1,080 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Ms. Schmitt
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Schmitt: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
