I came to teaching late, after working as a postal worker, and 47 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 1,180 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Ms. Salim
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Salim: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me special education in 2004 at Maple Ridge Academy. I still remember the cold winter when we all kept our coats on

You taught me special education in 2023 at Maple Ridge Academy. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard. Truly.
