I taught special education at Iztapalapa Public School in Iztapalapa from 1981 to 1991. Most days I taught the youngest children, and I never turned anyone away.
Over the years I had 500 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
