I taught chemistry at Bayview High School in Juiz de Fora from 1990 to 2006. Most days I taught the final-year class, and I never turned anyone away.
Over the years I had 480 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ms. Ribeiro
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Ribeiro: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

You taught me chemistry in 1998 at Bayview High School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.
