I teach religious studies at Baobab Secondary School in Los Angeles since 1997. Most days I teach Grade 6, and I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Outside the classroom I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays. Inside it, I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Ms. Powers: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
