Ms. Pillay
31 years teaching English literature in Soweto
- 🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
- Orchid Girls' School
- Since 1988
- English, Afrikaans
I teach English literature at Orchid Girls' School in Soweto since 1988. Most days I teach the final-year class, and I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Outside the classroom I'm always reading two books at once. Inside it, I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
More about Ms. Pillay
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Pillay: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
