I taught art and religious studies at Grand Rapids Girls' School, Grand Rapids. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I ran the reading group after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
More about Ms. Pérez
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
