For 28 years I have been the English literature teacher at Summit Technical College. I teach first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.

What gifts mean to Ms. Pérez: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
