I came to teaching late, after working as a shop assistant, and nine years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
I'm still learning every day.
What gifts mean to Ms. Palmer: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
