I taught social studies and physics at Maple Ridge Public School, São Paulo. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I had 1,540 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Ms. Paiva: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
