I taught home economics at Istanbul Secondary School in Istanbul from 2006 to 2020. Most days I taught teenagers, and I never turned anyone away.
Outside the classroom I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays. Inside it, I never turned anyone away.
More about Ms. Özdemir
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the mountains, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
