I came to teaching late, after working as a night-shift cleaner, and 38 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 990 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Ms. Ortiz
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Ms. Ortiz: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

you taught me French in 2022 at Maple Ridge High School. I still remember the day we all got the giggles in assembly.
