I came to teaching late, after working as a radio technician, and nine years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Ms. Nava: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
