I taught religious studies at Maple Ridge Grammar School in Kinondoni from 1999 to 2012. Most days I taught Year 9, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
I ran the running club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I make terrible puns.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
