I taught English literature at Kisumu Middle School in Kisumu from 1992 to 2012. Most days I taught Year 10, and I never once raised my voice.
Over the years I had 540 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Ms. Maina
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the mountains, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Ms. Maina: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
