I taught biology at Jakarta Barat Boys' School in Jakarta Barat from 2004 to 2018. Most days I taught the youngest children, and I learned every name in the first week.
I ran the drama society after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ms. Mahendra
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Mahendra: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
