I taught home economics at Kathmandu Secondary School in Kathmandu from 1984 to 2018. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 1,560 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
