Ms. Maharaj
Taught physical education at Soweto Primary School
- 🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
- 2017 to 2025
- English, Afrikaans
I came to teaching late, after working as a farmhand, and eight years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I'm always reading two books at once. Inside it, I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Ms. Maharaj: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me physical education in 2018 at Soweto Primary School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard. Greetings from Moscow.

You taught me physical education in 2020 at Soweto Primary School. I still remember the volcano experiment that got a bit out of hand.
