I teach social studies and computer science at Fortaleza Primary School, Fortaleza. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I've had 1,210 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Ms. Lopes
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Lopes: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
