I taught drama at Baobab Primary School in Los Angeles from 1988 to 2011. Most days I taught Grade 6, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 690 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
