I taught chemistry at Queensway High School in Los Angeles from 1988 to 2004. Most days I taught Grade 6, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.

What gifts mean to Ms. Kwon: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
