I taught special education at Phoenix Boys' School in San Diego from 1992 to 2016. Most days I taught the youngest children, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Ms. Jeon: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
