Ms. Jayawardena
Environmental science teacher at Negombo Primary School, Since 1978
- 🇱🇰 Negombo, Western, Sri Lanka
- Since 1978
- English, Sinhala
I came to teaching late, after working as a mechanic, and 48 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 2,740 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Ms. Jayawardena
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the capital, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Ms. Jayawardena: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
