I taught French at Fairview Girls' School in Toronto from 1996 to 2012. Most days I taught Year 9, and I learned every name in the first week.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
