For 21 years I was the biology teacher at Tangier High School. I taught the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I coached the school's quiz team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Ms. Ismail
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
