I taught English literature at Sacramento Middle School in Sacramento from 2007 to 2018. Most days I taught Year 9, and I learned every name in the first week.
Over the years I had 620 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Ms. Howard: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
