I taught social studies at St. Joseph's Technical College in Lafayette from 2010 to 2019. Most days I taught primary school children, and I learned every name in the first week.
Over the years I had 410 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Ms. Hicks
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Hicks: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
