I taught history at Highland Public School in Yonkers from 2018 to 2025. Most days I taught first-year students, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
Outside the classroom I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays. Inside it, I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
More about Ms. Hernandez
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Ms. Hernandez: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
