I came to teaching late, after working as a waiter, and eight years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window. Inside it, I learned every name in the first week.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Ms. Hernandez: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
