I teach social studies and biology at St. Joseph's Secondary School, Iztapalapa. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I've had 580 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Ms. García
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the capital, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Ms. García: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.

You taught me social studies in 2010 at St. Joseph's Secondary School. I still remember the snow day nobody expected. Truly.
