I came to teaching late, after working as a nurse, and 24 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I stay late on Thursdays for anyone who needs it.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to Ms. Fields: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
