Ms. Ekanayake
25 years teaching chemistry in Galle
- 🇱🇰 Galle, Southern, Sri Lanka
- Galle Girls' School
- Since 2018
- English, Sinhala
I came to teaching late, after working as a farmhand, and eight years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 290 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ms. Ekanayake
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the national park, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Ms. Ekanayake: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
