For 23 years I have been the statistics teacher at Jacaranda High School. I teach mixed-ability classes and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Ms. Díaz: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
