I taught biology at Cebu City Middle School in Cebu City from 1985 to 1995. Most days I taught the final-year class, and I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Over the years I had 600 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ms. Dela Cruz
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Ms. Dela Cruz: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
