I teach environmental science and home economics at Lakeview Technical College, Amsterdam. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Over the years I've had 1,140 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Ms. Dekker
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the capital, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
