I taught geography at Rotterdam Boys' School in Rotterdam from 2006 to 2014. Most days I taught the final-year class, and I never once raised my voice.
I coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Ms. De Jong
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Ms. De Jong: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
