Ms. Castillo
Religious studies and social studies teacher, Chicago
- 🇺🇸 Chicago, Illinois, United States
- Chicago Academy
- Since 1978
- English
For 48 years I have been the religious studies teacher at Chicago Academy. I teach Year 10 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I've run the reading group after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ms. Castillo
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ms. Castillo: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me religious studies in 2018 at Chicago Academy. I still remember the cold winter when we all kept our coats on
