For 33 years I have been the French teacher at Duque de Caxias Public School. I teach Year 9 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I've run the chess club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I make terrible puns.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ms. Batista
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Ms. Batista: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
