I taught English literature at Baobab High School in Dhaka from 1994 to 2015. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I never turned anyone away.
Over the years I had 920 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Ms. Barua
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the coast, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
