For ten years I was the special education teacher at Rio de Janeiro Primary School. I taught first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I coached the school's athletics team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Ms. Barros
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the coast, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Ms. Barros: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
