I taught social studies and economics at Los Angeles Boys' School, Los Angeles. I answered every email, even at midnight.
I coached the school's netball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Ms. Ávila
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
