For 39 years I have been the special education teacher at Ciudad de México Girls' School. I teach the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
More about Mrs. Vásquez
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Vásquez: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
