Mrs. Tijani
12 years teaching special education in Awka
- 🇳🇬 Awka, Anambra, Nigeria
- Hope High School
- Since 2002
- English, Hausa
I came to teaching late, after working as a farmhand, and 24 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I walk the dog by the river. Inside it, I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mrs. Tijani
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Tijani: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
