I taught art and French at Rosewood Boys' School, Cape Town. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Over the years I had 1,030 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Steyn: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
