I taught physics and geography at St. Joseph's Middle School, Guadalajara. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 430 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Romero: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
