I taught environmental science and English literature at Jacaranda Primary School, Mobile. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Mrs. Rios
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Rios: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
